What Are Cylinder I-Tip Hair Extensions?

Our Cylinder I-Tip application method (also known as micro ring) hair extensions features a reusable i-tip that easily reforms for multiple uses & made with high grade Indian Remy hair.

Each strand is encapsulated within a clear abrasion resistant tube by first bonding the root strands with a polyamide hot melt adhesive and then sealing the tube.

Cylinder micro rings extensions have finely engineered tip that will not crack or shed and can be re-attached numerous times. The tip will remain strong and flexible.

The lightweight hair attaches with soft copper links that will not add stress to scalp hair and can last for up to a year with proper care.

Available in Premium, Layered, Extra Body Wave and Curly hair.

Cylinder I-Tip Details

Our Cylinder extensions are sold by the bundle. Each bundle contains a little over half an ounce of hair with options of 2 tips sizes, 3 different hair finishes, 4 hair lengths and over 40 colors.

16" Length

Weight: 17 grams or 0.5 ounce of hair per bundle.

Large Size Tips: Minimum of 25 Strands per bundle. The tips are 1.8mm-2mm in diameter and 6mm long. Large tips fit best in 2.75 mm diameter links/rings

Small Size Tips: Minimum of 50 strands per bundle. The tips are 1.5mm-1.7mm in diameter and 6mm long. Small tips fit best in 2.5mm diameter link/rings. If the client has very thin fine hair, 1.8mm diameter links/rings are also recommended.

18" Length

Weight: 17 grams or 0.5 ounce of hair per bundle.

Range of Curly

Premium Hair is 70% double drawn Indian Remy cuticle hair. Slight Natural Wave hair that is fuller along the length with only the last few inches tapering to fuller ends.
Layered Hair is single drawn Indian Remy cuticle hair. Slight to body wave with naturally grown shorter lengths, starting from 5-6 inches from the roots and tapering to thin ends. This is what we consider a soft body wave.
 
Extra Body Wave Hair is single drawn Indian Remy cuticle hair. Full Body Wave with naturally grown shorter lengths, starting from start to finish from the roots and tapering to thin ends. This is a beach deep wave. Blends best with Curly Hair.
Curly hair is single drawn Indian Remy cuticle hair. The loose curly hair usually has 2” curl pattern with shorter lengths starting from 5-6” from the roots tapering to thin ends. The relaxed length is no less than 1” shorter and stretched length is at least 1” longer. Curly hair extensions are available in color levels 1-10 & 11 Bleach.

BLENDS

Blends are equal amounts of two colors side-by-side within each strand of the Poly and Cylinder extension. Different combinations of 2-color blends are available in Layered, Premium, Extra Body Wave and Curly, Large tips only.

6N/9N BLEND

ROOTED

Rooted's are a darker root color fading down to a body color, often creating a third middle color along the fade. Lengths of 16" and 18" will have a 1" root fading down to 4". Lengths of 20" and 22" will have a 2" root fading down to 6". Different combinations of Rooted are available in Layered, Premium, Extra Body Wave and Curly, Large tips only.

How to Order Cylinder Extensions

Hair & Compounds makes it easy to order Cylinder hair extensions:
1. Select your finish: Premium, Layered, Extra Body Wave, or Curly
2. Decide on length: Premium: 16”, 18”, 20”, 22" ; Layered: 16”, 18”, 20”, 22" ; Extra Body Wave: 18" & 20"; Curly: 16" & 18"
4. Select your tip size: Large vs Small (Only in Premium and Layered - Limited Colors)
5. Choose your color with our color swatch set or online color guide (for matching assistance, just text us a pic of your client)
6. Quantity will depend on tip size and the number of strands you have planned for the installation. Here are a few examples of how to calculate bundle quantity:
  • 200-250 Large tip strands = 8-10 bundles, 5-6 ounces of hair
  • 150 Large tip strands = 6 bundles, 3.5 ounces of hair
  • 100 Small tip strands = 2 bundles, 1.5 ounces of hair

What is the tip made of?

All tips are made by hand and shaped to fit into our Cylinder copper links.

Our tips are protected with this special sheath originally produced for the aerospace industry for long lasting strength while maintaining flexibility.

What are the copper links made of?

Copper rings are very soft metal that are much like bobby pins and do not cause scalp irritation unless the client has a special allergy. The tubes are made of scrap metal from the textile industry that can contain copper, nickel, brass, aluminum and other various soft metals.

How big are the tips?

They are available in either small which fits in 2.5mm link or large which fits in 2.75mm link and 0.25" long.

When would you choose Large or Small tip bundles?

People generally order the small bonds for finer and thinner hair extension strands or when mixing multiple colors together. Small tip bonds are priced 20% more than the large tips.

Large bonds are for adding fullness with less strands and are considering the standard sized hair extension strands.

Do you offer retipping services?

We do not have a retipping service as you can easily reshape the tips of cylinder extensions with a flat iron, lowest heat setting, press for 5 seconds and allow to cool before touching the tips. They will revert to the original shape.

 The Hair and Compounds copper cylinders are by far the safest for your hair. I love how natural the hair flows and how you can pretty much do everything you do with your natural hair. You can swim put it in a bun, or ponytail without ever noticing you have extensions.

This is also coming from first hand knowledge. I love to wear my product, so if I don’t wear it, then I don’t approve of using that method for anyone in my chair.
